I use a "solution-focused" approach to psychotherapy with children, adults, and families. Every person is unique, and in order to individualize treatment, I am skilled in integrating a variety of techniques and strategies such as: cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, family systems, play therapy, activity therapy, and family therapy techniques.

When children are the primary focus of treatment, I include caregivers in the therapy process and often make parenting strategies, parent communication styles, and discipline techniques main components of therapy. Psychological evaluations for adults and children are often recommended by schools or physicians in order to get a better sense of a person's strengths, weaknesses, and ways of approaching the world.

Psychological evaluations are also very useful when another therapist or doctor is not sure of a person's mental health diagnosis and a full evaluation can shed light on a correct diagnosis.

I am trained in early-childhood mental health consultation and can provide consultation to preschools, elementary school, and childcare centers on a range of behavioral and social-emotional topics such as: helping children follow rules, teaching empathy, building peer relationships, managing explosive behaviors, understanding hyperactive/inattentive behaviors, identifying learning difficulties, noticing mental health "red flags", and building a positive learning environment.
