Healing Quest Counselling is a Maple Ridgebased practice offering trauma-informed therapy locally and online to clients throughout British Columbia. Led by Registered Clinical Social Worker Kirsten Boulier, we focus our work on trauma recovery, anxiety, occupational burnout, dissociation, adult ADHD, grief, and attachment dynamics. Our commitment is to create a clinical environment where individuals can address both longstanding and emerging concerns with professionalism and care.
We incorporate EMDR, somatic-based interventions, parts-informed approaches including IFS and DNMS, and expressive arts techniques within our sessions. Rather than concentrating exclusively on cognitive understanding, we examine how trauma and sustained stress influence nervous system regulation, relational engagement, and attentional capacity. Many individuals seek our services for high-functioning anxiety, entrenched people-pleasing tendencies, trauma-induced shutdown, or feelings of inner disconnection. Therapy with us is intentionally collaborative and thoughtfully paced, emphasizing education about the nervous system as a foundation for meaningful change. Clients may attend sessions in person at our Maple Ridge location or access virtual counselling from anywhere in British Columbia.

Services
We provide trauma therapy for individuals impacted by overwhelming or repeated experiences that occurred without adequate support or safety. Whether rooted in a single event, chronic relational stress, or intergenerational patterns, unresolved trauma can keep the nervous system in a state of threat. Our work emphasizes regulation, integration, and rebuilding internal safety. Using somatic therapy, parts-based approaches, EMDR, and expressive methods, we pace treatment carefully to strengthen capacity, self-trust, and stability before deeper processing begins.
In our sessions, we prioritize understanding your anxiety patterns while building nervous system resilience. Many clients report appearing in control outwardly while feeling unsettled within. Our role is to help your system relearn safety, develop flexibility, and navigate real-life challenges with increased steadiness. Meaningful progress does not require eliminating anxiety entirely, but expanding your capacity to manage it.
Adults living with ADHD often manage daily responsibilities while internally feeling scattered or behind. Emotional sensitivity, hyperfocus, and challenges with follow-through can intensify self-doubt. We offer therapy that addresses both practical concerns and the deeper layers of shame that may have developed. By integrating regulation strategies and parts-based work, we guide you toward clarity, resilience, and sustainable change.
We recognize that grief is a natural response to many forms of loss, including the death of a loved one, relationship endings, health changes, or shifts in identity. Grief is rarely linear and may involve a range of emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, numbness, or even moments of calm. When grief feels persistent or overwhelming, we provide trauma-informed support focused on gentle integration. Our approach emphasizes nervous system stabilization, attachment-informed exploration, and meaningful processing at a pace that feels safe.
When coping required emotional withdrawal or compartmentalization, dissociation can become an enduring survival strategy. This may include zoning out under stress, fuzzy recall, or feeling unlike yourself in certain moments. We approach this work with intention and care, focusing first on stabilization and nervous system support. Our goal is to build capacity and connection at a pace that respects your system.
When depression takes hold, it may diminish motivation, disrupt sleep or appetite, and create a sense of disconnection from yourself and others. We view these symptoms through a trauma-informed and nervous system lens, recognizing that shutdown can be protective when stress becomes chronic. Our counselling integrates EMDR, somatic practices, parts work, and attachment-informed care to support recovery. We focus on expanding emotional capacity, easing shame, and restoring sustainable rhythms of activity and rest. Each treatment plan reflects the understanding that causes and pathways to healing differ for every person.
At Healing Quest Counselling, we recognize that burnout extends far beyond ordinary fatigue. It can present as ongoing exhaustion, emotional depletion, irritability, and a sense of disconnection from work or relationships. Through a regulation-focused approach, we support nervous system stabilization, sustainable boundaries, and the gradual restoration of energy. Our work helps recalibrate capacity and rebuild engagement over time.

I bring exploratory curiosity to my trauma therapy practice and absolutely love getting to know clients through their own lens. Every person has a unique story to tell, and learning about each clients resiliency and lived experience is a privilege I deeply respect.
I provide trauma therapy services to youth and adults across BC (online) and see clients in-person in Maple Ridge, BC. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. I believe that healing is possible - and that it can happen at a safe, steady pace.

Kirsten brings such a calming presence to the space. It felt really easy to trust her. Very genuine and empathetic. I love how many awesome "tools" (emdr, mindfulness, tapping ...) we have used in sessions. Healing our messy isn't easy, and Kirsten is surely gifted at helping us navigate 'our mess'. I'm def thankful to found therapy again
